Cyril Kriwan

After many years as an architect, Cyril now works for a museum display case manufacturer and devotes his time to photography. Architecture continues to play a role in his life from a wide variety of perspectives – as a planner, observer, and communicator. He also values these different perspectives in his work for Ticket B: Through exchanges with people who are interested in architecture for a variety of reasons, enriching discussions are always taking place. Currently, Cyril leads tours primarily around Museumsinsel and to the IBA ’87 buildings in Kreuzberg. Although the two places could hardly be more different, they fascinate him as witnesses to significant phases in Berlin’s architectural history. Both demonstrate how closely architecture is linked to social and historical developments. In his free time, Cyril is usually out and about with his camera – he particularly appreciates the green spaces and the feel of old West Berlin in his neighborhood of Friedenau.
