River Cruises

Along the Spree through Berlin

Experiencing the city from the water offers new perspectives on Berlin’s architecture and urban development. Along the Spree, one can observe historical layers as well as current construction projects and visionary urban planning of the city. Between the Museum Island and the Government District, significant buildings from various eras are standing next to each other: 19th-century museums, imposing modern government buildings and contemporary architecture.

Passing Museum Island with its iconic museum buildings, the route leads through the city’s political centre: the Reichstag, Federal Chancellery and the parliamentary buildings. At the same time, new urban districts such as Europacity are emerging in the immediate vicinity, redefining the relationship between city, water and living. The tour reveals how Berlin is constantly evolving and how architecture, politics and urban planning form a dialogue across the riverbanks.
