Marie Jacobsen

Marie currently works at the Institute of Urban Design at the TU Braunschweig, but has also gained experience at the University of Kassel and in various architecture offices. For as long as she can remember, she has been fascinated by the diverse expressions of urban spaces and how they have come about. Thanks to her studies and teaching activities, she now has a much better understanding of the reasons for this and is happy to share this knowledge and enthusiasm. In her guided tours, she wants to awaken a little more understanding of architecture and urban development – especially among non-architects. Marie lives in Friedrichshain near Boxhagener Platz, but what she enjoys most is the guided tour through Neukölln, as many different temporal layers of the city are interwoven here and you can experience them very well as you walk through. Privately, she enjoys taking visitors to the Neues Museum – the combination of new architectural language and the historical exhibits there really appeals to her.
