One City two Centres
Berlin has two main centres in the former eastern and western parts of the city. In the west, the commercial centre of the once walled city established itself around the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church with the Europa Center at Bahnhof Zoo.
The revitalization of the Bikini building and the Zoopalast cinema has created a new concept mall and entertainment mile that further develops the heritage of the 1950s and creates innovative shopping opportunities. With the construction of two new high-rise buildings, the Upper West Tower and the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, the centre of West Berlin has been enriched by two architecturally significant landmarks.
