DZ Bank at Pariser Platz

The façades of the buildings on Pariser Platz follow strict design rules. But what is actually happening behind them? The DZ Bank by the Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry has two faces: behind a precisely structured natural stone façade, the interior conceals an organically shaped auditorium made of steel and glass—the so-called “horse’s head.” In contrast, its neighboring building, the Akademie der Künste, takes a different design approach, challenging the square’s regulations.
Each building sets a different focus: one draws people in, while the other preserves its highlight almost like a treasure within its inner core. Experience these impressive interiors and learn more about the history of the buildings and our exclusive inside visits to the DZ Bank building, in cooperation with Axica!
