A Cut through the Inner City

With this guided tour we cut a section through the centre of Berlin, presenting both historical and contemporary projects. The route combines various aspects of contemporary urban development and includes both residential and representative public buildings with very different functions.
Close to Friedrichstrasse, you will discover the innovative residential and working quarter at the former flower market and the new Springer Campus media center by Rem Koolhaas.
The House of One, a place of prayer for the three world religions and the project for a river bath in the Mitte district of Berlin are just as important for the cities societal fabric as the Humboldt Forum and the James Simon Gallery by David Chipperfield, the new entrance building to the Museum Island.
